Your privacy
Recipe.ng stores your email, encrypted password credentials, profile, recipes, stories, interactions, uploaded photos, and reports to run the community.
Public and private
Published posts, profiles, comments, follows, likes, and reposts are visible to visitors. Drafts, saved recipes, cookbooks, notifications, and your email are private. Moderators can review reports and manage published content.
Storage and cookies
Cloudflare stores application data and photos. Essential session cookies keep you signed in. Email confirmation and password reset messages use our configured email provider. Embedded YouTube videos load only on recipe pages with a video; YouTube may apply its own privacy practices.
Google and Facebook sign-in
When available, you can choose to sign in with Google or Facebook. We receive your account identifier, name, email address, email verification status and any profile image the provider supplies to create or connect your Recipe.ng account. We do not receive your Google or Facebook password or access to your posts, contacts, messages, Gmail or Drive. Each provider also processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy. You can continue to use email and password instead.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics on recipe.ng to understand visits, page views, and how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and process device and browsing information under Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
We count views and clicks on custom sponsored cards without tracking cookies or storing your identity with an ad event. Daily totals are retained; temporary event records expire after 35 days. A short-lived, anonymised request limit helps prevent inflated counts.
Sponsored cards are labelled in the kitchen feed. When enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads under Google’s advertising policy. Opening a sponsor’s link takes you to that website and its own privacy practices.
Your controls
Edit your profile, remove your posts and comments, unsave recipes, delete cookbooks, or block another kitchen. Removed posts stop appearing publicly. Request account deletion from the website or the Android app without reinstalling the app.
Android app
The Android app uses the same Recipe.ng account and community. Recipes you download for offline cooking and ingredient checkmarks stay in app-private storage on your device. Use the app menu to clear downloads, or uninstall the app to remove this local data. Photo uploads use Android’s system picker; the app does not request broad photo-library, camera, location or contacts access. The Android app blocks Google web advertising and Analytics requests and bundles no advertising or Analytics SDK.
